Abstract

Chemoradiation therapy has become increasingly popular in the treatment of head and neck cancer as part of an organ preservation protocol. However, surgical management including neck dissection has the important role in treatment of head and neck cancer, especially advanced cancer. Lymphedema is a frequent side effect from head and neck cancer and/or its treatment. A early identification and timely appropriate therapy of head and neck lymphedema is critical to improve clinical outcomes and decrease symptom burden, functional impairments, and improve overall quality of life in head and neck cancer patients.
